Jumping Through Hoops to Keep Our Kids Safe

Welcome to Family Extension Foster Care, Inc., (FEFC)  a non-profit organization with its main office in the San Joaquin County.  The agency was founded in 2006, with a mission and passion to work with the at-risk children and provide a safe, healthy and stable environment conducive to positive, lasting change. Without permanent nurturing relationships with loving and caring adults, foster children are far more likely to endure homelessness, poverty, compromised health, unemployment, incarceration and other adversities after they leave the foster care system than their peers in the general population.

Armed with this knowledge, our goal is to provide a family environment to children who would otherwise be placed in institutional settings. Our main objective is to partner with adults in our communities who, like ourselves, believe that our children are our future and that we can change their destinies by touching one life at a time. To that end, we seek and recruit foster parents who are committed to investing their time and energy toward raising these children. We provide training and certify their homes to comply with state and county requirements. Once the homes are certified, we continue to support the families by providing continuous education and fostering respect and open communication with the children and parents as well. Our “extended” families are the cornerstone of our success, and our pride and joy.

We invite our business communities and those interested in partnering with our worthy cause to participate in raising our great children. It has been rightly said, “it takes a village”. Our organization is a 501(c)(3) and depends on community to meet the basic needs of our children. We appreciate your monetary and or in-kind donations, especially around Christmas and other holidays.  “To him who has been given much, much is required”, thus, you return one good deed with another and perform an act of kindness. This way, the cycle of compassion and goodwill continues indefinitely.
